Staying at this place for 4 nights was peaceful, with a handy downtown location, close to a supermarket, shops, and a nice restaurant nearby.

The two-room apartment we stayed were quite comfortable. We even cooked our dinner there. Really convenient location, 3 min walk to the train station and 15-20 min to the city center/ old port. I really appreciated those mini croissants offered in the lobby, really nice!

Room was fantastic, clean, spacious and extremely quiet considering we overlooked the train station. Trains didn't disturb us at all. Staff all excellent and location brilliant. Would definitely recommend.

Easy acces to the railway station and airport navette. Spacious apartment for three adults.
The standard of the bathroom was out of any level with awfull smell and dirty plastic floor and walls. The carpets of the rooms were also dirty. Micro owen did not work, but two friendly cleaning ladies got immediately a new one for us.

Citéa Marseille Saint Charles caught my eye due to it's lower price and high rating. In the end I decided to book it and don't regret doing so. When landing in Marseille Airport, hop on bus number 91 and it will take you to Saint Charles Train Station, 30 seconds away from the hotel, very convenient. It is located a 10 minute walk from the Vieux Port and all touristy things and if you don't mind a bit of an extra walk it's about half an hour to the nearest beach. Although it is directly next to the train station you would never know due to the incredible sound proofing of the windows! The bed was extremely comfortable. The night receptionist was a legend, a friendly, funny and extremely helpful man! He was brilliant!
On our second day the cleaner only changed our towels, they never emptied the bin or replenished our toilet paper.

The value was great, the location was convenient and ideal, and the staff were efficient; I enjoyed discovering a nearby restaurant called Le Printemps that served delicious meals.

Proximity to the train station is the single and only benefit of this hotel
First and foremost, the hotel has major major security problems, in that: firstly, elevator access is easy and unsupervised, and the hotel is located in a VERY unseemly area behind the train station with a lot of drunks and rabble-rousers everywhere; secondly, your room key (the only one) needs "by policy" to be left with the front desk when you depart, in easy view of interested thieves (who can incredibly easily identify which guests are in their rooms and which ones aren't); thirdly the "maids" who do up your room do not obey your "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door when you are away, putting at risk anything you have left in your room---> also be aware, I brought this issue to the hotel manager's attention, he shrugged this concern off, saying that they have no control over the cleaners "who don't speak French" and thereby don't understand the signs on the door (???), and they are not employed by the Hotel itself but rather come from a company that sub-contracts these services... So I say, you are taking a significant risk leaving ANYTHING in your room, ever. Beyond these security concerns, the rooms are extremely old; wifi and its functionality are a complete joke, slow, very limited, inefficient, NOT AT ALL what the hotel ad suggests; the room smells of old smoke and body doors; the open-style bathroom with no shower enclosure will be very disconcerting for some, and the tremendous melodrama to have bathroom amenities refreshed speaks to the hotels extremely limited interest in it's guests well-being and comfort... I absolutely DO NOT recommend anyone stay at this hotel ...

Perfectly pleasant experience there. Perfect accommodation, very amiable staff, strategic location to metro to Marseille city centre. Location just off St Charles train station, anything of real interest and underground.
